FORGET-ME-NOT - COTTAGE BY THE SEA

TWO DOVES, A CAT, AND MY SON, LOL.
"OUR HOUSE, THEY SAY; AND MINE, THE CAT DECLARES" AND MINE, SAID; MY SON THIS MORNING WHEN I SENT HIM A PICTURE OF THE COMPLETED OIL PAINTING OF THE COTTAGE BY THE SEA - FORGET-ME-NOT.

I finally decided to place the two doves on the cottage roof and a little white cat in the garden.
On to my next painting. I'm practicing "Hygge; bringing in a little bit of Danish culture into my life and sharing with people that seek that same dreamy place in their life.

MY HOUSE, I SAY

~ ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON 1850-1894

"My house, I say. But hark to the sunny doves
That make my roof the arena of their loves,
That gyre about the gable all day long
And fill the chimneys with their murmurous song:
Our house, they say; and mine, the cat declares
And spreads his golden fleece upon the chairs;
And mine the dog, and rises stiff with wrath
If any alien foot profane the path.
So, too, the buck that trimmed my terraces,
Our whilom gardener, called the garden his;
Who now, deposed, surveys my plain abode
And his late kingdom, only from the road."

MY HOUSE, I SAY...COTTAGE BY THE SEA ~ FORGET-ME-NOT COTTAGE ( WIP/2 )

Yes, this could be my house and mine, said my husband when he looked at my painting this morning. It's still a WIP. I need to finish painting the grass along the path, maybe a couple of doves on the roof and a cat, just like Robert Louis Stevenson wrote about in the poem "My House, I Say."

The Forget- Me- Nots and Tansy are flowers we collected on our trip down east. THE INN AT WHALE COVE COTTAGES, GRAND MANAN ISLAND, NEW BRUNSWICK is a place that will always be dear to me and M. We had such a great time there and, Laura, the Inn Keeper at Whale Cove Cottages, made it extra special for us. This painting, inspired by that special place we stayed at one cold October month in 2017. One day, we shall go back!

HAPPY EASTERπŸ‡πŸ£ A GREAT DAY FOR PAINTING A COTTAGE BY THE SEA 🌊🏑

HAPPY EASTERπŸ‡πŸ£

A great day for painting a Cottage By The Sea 🌊🏑

COTTAGE BY THE SEA WIP -"I CANNOT COME BECAUSE THAT IS MY HOUR TO BE ALONE."

"But if one says: I cannot come because that is my hour to be alone, one is considered rude, egotistical, or strange. What a commentary on our civilization when being alone is considered suspect; when one has to apologize for it, make excuses, hide the fact that one practices it - like a secret vice!"
It seems to be more than an hour of alone time for me these days, always painting, and thankfully my dear husband doesn't mind and is kind enough to do the family's cooking. Thanks, Stan!!!♥️
Hopefully, the landscape I traveled to once upon a time and visited in my dreams comes to fruition. So far, I like what I see. I know I paint weirdly, although it works for me.

ONE MOSTLY GHOSTLY NIGHT

If I could travel back in time, I would choose Ghostly Victorian England and live in a cottage by the sea, much like "Gull Cottage" from the movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir."

A haunting, lonely cottage by the sea, the house I've lived in all my life in my dreams. It was the lonely, ghostly mood of the place and a house sitting silently alone, its only view the romantic sea that I wanted to capture in this painting of three spooky cute ghost cats by the names of Ghost, Spooks, and Boo sitting by the seashore on "One Mostly, Ghostly Night."

As I was painting the ghost cats sitting on the driftwood posts, I got a flashback to the scene of Lucy and her daughter, Anna, on the beach and how the old fisherman carved Anna's name on the driftwood.

I could sign my work with my name, Anna on one of the ghost cat's driftwood posts. How fitting to pay homage to one of my all-time favorite ghost movies.

Oh, and by the way, Annabelle is my nickname given to me by my husband when we first met because I love the poem, Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe. Oh, and one more thing, look at the cloud to the right of the moon.

Lucy Muir: "I want Gull Cottage".

STORY BOOK DAYS THE CRAZY CAT LADY COLORING BOOK

Story Book Days ☆★.٭•:*:•٭.★☆ ☆★.٭•:*:•٭

Every day is a lesson learned. I seriously need to keep a book on computer tech stuff because I tend to forget just about everything I have learned through the years. This morning I searched on creating a watermark and managed to make one in pink for M''s illustration of "E.T." the Cat from the coloring book we are presently working on, "The Crazy Cat Lady Coloring Book".©
We are busy adding coloring pages to our Etsy store every day, working on illustrations, paintings, and writing stories; of course, still working on my snowy quilt, 157 posies from one ball of yarn ( 454g )so far.
"Sleep Walk " ~ is one of several paintings which is part of a story  painted by me

Victorian Roses ~ Finally listed this set on Etsy

From The Little Vampires With Love ♥️❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️♥️

When you have two love cats like Bat and Maggie,
it's very hard not to grab the camera / iPhone and shoot. M took a slew of photos and sent these along to me. I just had to share these sweethearts again, especially today.

Happy Valentine's Day❣️♥️❤️❤️♥️❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾

CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER πŸ’” RIP The Sound of Music - Edelweiss (Reprise)

Christopher Plummer RIP πŸ’”

"My fellow Austrians, I shall not be seeing you again perhaps for a very long time. I would like to sing for you now... a love song. I know you love. I pray that you will never let it die."

I seem to be quite captivated by this fellow ~ The Scarecrow

The Scarecrow

- Walter de la Mare

No filter, just my phone, the garden, the scarecrow and, the sunflowers in the snow.

All winter through I bow my head
beneath the driving rain;
the North Wind powders me with snow
and blows me black again;
at midnight 'neath a maze of stars
I flame with glittering rime,
and stand above the stubble, stiff
as mail at morning-prime.
But when that child called Spring, and all
his host of children come,
scattering their buds and dew upon
these acres of my home,
some rapture in my rags awakes;
I lift void eyes and scan
the sky for crows, those ravening foes,
of my strange master, Man.
I watch him striding lank behind
his clashing team, and know
soon will the wheat swish body high
where once lay a sterile snow;
soon I shall gaze across a sea
of sun-begotten grain,
which my unflinching watch hath sealed
for harvest once again.

for KING & COUNTRY - amen (Official Music Video) Amen ♥️πŸ™

Amen ♥️

Amen ♥️
for KING & COUNTRY
Count to three and say a prayer
Down for love and up for air
Underwater, overjoyed
Water for a thirsty soul
Water for a thirsty soul
Baptize me into Your love
Oh my spirit's overcome
Body, mind, and skin, bone
Love Him, wanna make it known
Love Him, wanna make it known
I'm comin' alive with You
I'm comin' alive with You
I was livin' a lie 'til you
I'm comin' alive with You
All the people say
Amen! Amen!
All the people say
Amen! Amen! Amen!
Yeah!
Resurrection day is here
Bells are ringin' loud and clear
Caterpillar to a butterfly
Risen to another life
Risen to another life
Yeah, I'm comin' alive with You
I'm comin' alive with You
I was livin' a lie 'til you
I'm comin' alive with You
All the people say
Amen! Amen!
All the people say
Amen! Amen! Amen!
Yeah!
Amen!
From death to life (Amen!)
From dark to light (Amen!)
I'm singin' out tonight (Amen! Amen!)
You're in my blood, my veins
In every word I pray
You gave it all for me
I'll give it all for You
Oh, I'm in love with You
Overwhelmed by You
And if the world is listenin'
This is my confession
You are my obsession
All the people say
Amen! Amen!
All the people say
Amen! Amen! Amen!
Yeah!
Amen!
From death to life (Amen!)
From dark to light (Amen!)
I'm singin' out tonight (Amen! Amen!)
Yeah!

The Visitors πŸŽ„πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸΎπŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸŒ²πŸŽ„

“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.”
A couple of cute kitty cats are purrfect to cheer up a sickly fellow. On the other hand, not so sure Bat and Maggie were thrilled by their unexpected journey away from their home sweet home. After all that has transpired in the last week, they might be questioning why all the changes around them. A little afraid of being uprooted from home, I would imagine.

Morning Sun☀️πŸŽ„

Morning Sun☀️πŸŽ„“Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.”

Early morning @ my son's home taking care of him after his operation.

On Christmas Day, he experienced an attack of Appendicitis and was driven two hours to Saint Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon for an emergency appendectomy.

Thank you to the front line workers, nurses, doctors, Kirby, Gerry, TRL, and Doctor C.Groot for taking good care of him. Very much appreciated by the Belanger family. Hard to keep calm when a loved one is sick and far away from home.

a-matter-of-perspective πŸŽ„πŸΎ

Happy Caturday
a-matter-of-perspective

“I have always thought of Christmastime when it has come round...as a good time"
But, Christmas can have all things, both good and bad, mixed in; it is not exempt from the rest of the days of the year.
The loss of a dear pet, our church cat, Karson, on December 23rd, a day before Christmas Eve, was quite sad, still today and for some time to come for sure. Then Christmas Night was yet another challenge: I may share it later with you.
It all depends on how we look at the situation. I try always to keep positive, although sometimes it's not so easy.
I look at Maggie looking out the window, alone, with no Christmas tree, somewhat a little sad, watching for Karson to come home, or is she just looking at the birds feeding at the feeder. Bat looking at me, thinking? Me thinking? We all have a different view from where we stand or sit.
