SEASONS OUT OF TIME - VELVET PUMPKINS

Velvet Pumpkins in blue velvet with tiny real pumpkin stems, vintage porcelain Forget-Get-Not flowers, german glass glitter, silver hearts and, dot confetti.

I'm living in the past in a season out of time, watching old film reels and creating old vintage souvenirs. Seasons out of time always seem to inspire me the most. I'm not sure if it's my longing for a season or just something from that time of year I miss. Maybe, there's good reason for my fanciful twists in the year. Maybe, I traveled here from somewhere out of time : ) Or maybe, it's just my way of living in my happy place.

THE PERFECT BAT πŸ¦‡ FOR THE HALLOWEEN TREE

THE PERFECT BAT πŸ¦‡ FOR THE HALLOWEEN TREE

Whenever I paint or create often, I return to it and make minor adjustments.
The Halloween Tulle Tree I made earlier this week was cute but, the little bat sticker disappeared into the tree branches: a bit too small for the tree.
I rummaged through my Halloween decorations for my little sparkly bats and found the perfect bat. The funny thing is, my Halloween ornaments are slowly coming out of hibernation in January when Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Oh well, it turned out for the better. I love my little Halloween tree even more now.

I ended up using E6000 for adhering the sparkly bat to the tree with a black pipe cleaner, adding the tiny ghost to a branch permanently with hot glue. I believe The Halloween Tree is done for now until I find the perfect little ornaments for it. I hope you like it.

THE HALLOWEEN TREE

THE HALLOWEEN TREE

A Song I discovered this morning
I love it!

and A Poem

Teeny Tiny Ghost

A teeny, tiny ghost
no bigger than a mouse
at most,
lived in a great big house

It's hard to haunt
a great big house
when you're a teeny, tiny ghost
no bigger than a mouse
at most.

He did what he could do.

So every dark and stormy night
the kind that shakes the house with fright -
if you stood still and listened right,
you'd hear a
teen tiny

Boo!

I finally got around to making a Christmas Tulle Tree, well not exactly, I made a Halloween Tulle Tree. Since I didn't have the supplies for the Christmas Tulle Tree I decided to make one for Halloween. There are many tutorials for Tulle Christmas Trees online and I decided on using THE HALLMARK CHANNEL - TULLE TREES tutorial.

I used a vintage metal pot I found at the Manse garage sale in Kemptville, a woodblock for the inside, drilled a hole for the tree trunk recycled from a paintbrush. To make the trunk straight I used coffee stir sticks jammed in the edges of the woodblock, no glue was needed except for the top of the tree to cover the top with tulle. The bat top is made of two bat stickers and of course, the sparkly tulle I used was from an old Halloween costume I cut up into 12 x 3 strips and decreased their length by an inch when I was halfway up the tree trunk.

Maybe my next tree I will try making rosettes of varying sizes and see what that will look like. I do like this one with its very own little tree skirt. Too adorable!

A COUNTRY ESCAPE ♥️

A COUNTRY ESCAPE

Happy am I when I slip into bed-
I dream of a pastoral place,
A country escape,
And find heaven on earth

There’s a cottage @ Rideau Ferry, it’s name - “Heaven on Earth” and I think it isπŸ˜‡

This lovely mixed media painting is a treasure I found on one of my shopping trips, unfortunately, the artist didn’t sign their name to the artwork.

NEW ORDER BLUE MONDAY

Lost in space somewhere between Earth and The Milky Way.

Somewhere between the Past and the Future.

The Present is New Order Blue Monday.

"And still, I find it so hard To say what I need to say But,
I'm quite sure that you'll tell me Just how I should feel today."

Chopin Spring Waltz 1 hours ~ SNOWED INN

SNOWED INN

When the north star twinkles, expect stormy weather.

We are snowed in but not by snow but by an invisible enemy.

Home is where the heart is. Our focus is on family, friends, furry friends, and watching the birds visit the feeders you filled. In keeping positive, trying to understand life, we wait for Spring.

Peace... can only be achieved by understanding.

Heal the Pain Last Christmas 2019

Finished watching "Last Christmas" 2019 with Emilia Clarke and Emma Thompson
Heal The Pain sung by Madison Ingoldsby
Heal the Pain
George Michael
Let me tell you a secret
Put it in your heart and keep it
Something that I want you to know
Do something for me
Listen to my simple story
And maybe we'll have something to show
You tell me you're cold on the inside
How can the outside world
Be a place that your heart can embrace
Be good to yourself
Cause nobody else
Has the power to make you happy
How can I help you?
Please let me try to
I can heal the pain
That you're feeling inside
Whenever you want me
You know that I will be
Waiting for the day
That you say you'll be mine
