THE QUEEN started out as a wood burning in October 3/2008, seven years ago.
Unfortunately the wood piece no longer exists, I burned it : ) I did however take a picture.

Country Kitchen Chalkboard

Great Slate Chalkboard Paint by Disney/Glidden

and other supplies to try out for another project : )

the hardboard I used

It took me a few years to actually put this beautiful solid wood frame to use.
Early one morning while driving my daughter to school I passed the local Antique dealer in town and noticed a frame sticking out of his garbage bin. We were already running late so I didn't have the time to pull over and pick it up.
During the 15 minute drive to school I was hoping the garbage truck wasn't going to beat me to it. By the time I returned to town I could still see the picture frame sticking out of the garbage, no garbage truck had come and no one had bothered to stop, lucky me!
But when I went to pick the frame out of the garbage I got a double surprise, I found a beautiful Venetian mirror with gorgeous carved roses. Both finds had their imperfections. The frame had old mildew fabric edging I removed and the mirror had a wood rose missing which in time I plan to refurbish. Love discovering old discarded antiques especially freebies and turning them into something special and useful.

I painted the hardboard with three coats of the Disney Great Slate Chalkboard Paint and then framed it in the gorgeous Gold Antique Wood Frame I found in the trash and refurbished.
Now all I have to do is wait 7 days before I write on my Country Kitchen Chalkboard. I am thinking of painting something on it but not sure what. I do have a week to figure it out : )

Love my One of Kind Country Kitchen Chalkboard and I can't wait to write on it.

Beautiful Peaceful Sad Piano Music "Weeping Willow" - (Original) Gabriel...

This is totally my kind of music and Gabrielle Aapri is now one of my favourite composers!

Weeping Willow ~Gabrielle Aapri

Once in a while I am stopped on my wanderings by radiant art.
Last night I was lost in a dream, caught by a whisper of a
haunting melody.
When I searched and found your youtube video of Weeping Willow,
the beautiful consortium of the melodic music to the poetic visual I was held
captive for what seemed forever.

Thank You  Gabrielle for your beautiful music.

MICETTO HILL ~ MICETTO WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?

Elliott, ‘Our Big Fat House Cat’ was a garage sale treasure we found many years ago.

Elliott

It was an early Saturday morning in the spring of 2001 when my daughter Emma and I decided to go garage sailing; little did we know we would be returning back home with another pet in tow.

Elliott and Karson

The long, thin kitten with white and grey patches was free to a good home and came with an official birth certificate and shots.
He was no ordinary cat, then again no cat is ordinary but he was unquestionably extraordinary.

The Three Amigos ~
Elliott, Grace and Karson

Elliott became Emma’s constant companion from the minute she picked him out of the cage at the old farmhouse yard sale in town.
M and Elliott spent hours on end in her bedroom playing dress up, she was the designer and he the model.

Grandma what big eyes you have!

When there were no more designs to test out M would take Elly to the park and go down the spiral slide with Elly on her lap and then the swing would be next.  It was like watching a mother and her baby having a great day at the playgrounds.

Elliott at the park

Never did he once escape her not that he lacked the ingenuity to do so but because he chose to stay and was happy and content.

His endowment of human characteristics at times made me wonder if he had lived as a human in one of his previous lives. In any case he put a spell on us.

In the days and months after his passing my daughter and I were inspired to emulate Elly in our artwork. Elliott took on many disguises, once again a model he appeared in angel cartoon form to jovial fat Ellycats. Artwork by M.

Then in early January of this year I decided I wanted to draw Elly again only this time change his color to black and white, his patches akin more to that of a cow, lo and behold, Micetto appeared.

Yes, as you recall I did say earlier that Elly was a long thin kitten but Elliott transformed into this big lovable ball of fur that could never be more than a few feet away from you at any given time. He became Our Big Fat House Cat because the time came where Elly was too big to carry to the park and too fat to be a model but he still played hide and seek at home and was quick on his feet, amazing for a cat his size.

He was extraordinary in every sense of the word. A dramatist in life and in death; he left his mark in our hearts and keeps writing us stories.

Our companion was the writer all along ~^..^~ and even now .
ELLY 2001 ~ 2008

Micetto is the story of Elliott in his next life.

Until Later,
Annabelle
