“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.”
A couple of cute kitty cats are purrfect to cheer up a sickly fellow. On the other hand, not so sure Bat and Maggie were thrilled by their unexpected journey away from their home sweet home. After all that has transpired in the last week, they might be questioning why all the changes around them. A little afraid of being uprooted from home, I would imagine.

Morning Sun☀️π
Morning Sun☀️π“Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.”
Early morning @ my son's home taking care of him after his operation.
On Christmas Day, he experienced an attack of Appendicitis and was driven two hours to Saint Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon for an emergency appendectomy.
Thank you to the front line workers, nurses, doctors, Kirby, Gerry, TRL, and Doctor C.Groot for taking good care of him. Very much appreciated by the Belanger family. Hard to keep calm when a loved one is sick and far away from home.♥️π❤️π

Happy Caturday
a-matter-of-perspective
“I have always thought of Christmastime when it has come round...as a good time"
But, Christmas can have all things, both good and bad, mixed in; it is not exempt from the rest of the days of the year.
The loss of a dear pet, our church cat, Karson, on December 23rd, a day before Christmas Eve, was quite sad, still today and for some time to come for sure. Then Christmas Night was yet another challenge: I may share it later with you.
It all depends on how we look at the situation. I try always to keep positive, although sometimes it's not so easy.
I look at Maggie looking out the window, alone, with no Christmas tree, somewhat a little sad, watching for Karson to come home, or is she just looking at the birds feeding at the feeder. Bat looking at me, thinking? Me thinking? We all have a different view from where we stand or sit.

Leonard Cohen - Everybody Knows (Live in London)
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed Everybody knows the war is over Everybody knows the good guys lost Everybody knows the fight was fixed The poor stay poor, the rich get rich That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows that the boat is leaking Everybody knows that the captain lied Everybody got this broken feeling Like their father or their dog just died Everybody talking to their pockets Everybody wants a box of chocolates And a long-stem rose Everybody knows Everybody knows that you love me baby Everybody knows that you really do Everybody knows that you've been faithful Ah, give or take a night or two Everybody knows you've been discreet But there were so many people you just had to meet Without your clothes And everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows And everybody knows that it's now or never Everybody knows that it's me or you And everybody knows that you live forever Ah, when you've done a line or two Everybody knows the deal is rotten Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton For your ribbons and bows And everybody knows And everybody knows that the Plague is coming Everybody knows that it's moving fast Everybody knows that the naked man and woman Are just a shining artifact of the past Everybody knows the scene is dead But there's gonna be a meter on your bed That will disclose What everybody knows And everybody knows that you're in trouble Everybody knows what you've been through From the bloody cross on top of Calvary To the beach of Malibu Everybody knows it's coming apart Take one last look at this Sacred Heart Before it blows And everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows

Remembrance Day 2020 Poppy Day Lest We Forget.♥️
Remembrance Day 2020
Lest We Forget.♥️
They gave their lives so that we could enjoy our freedom. On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, we will remember you."
These hearts were woven of human joys and cares,
Washed marvelously with sorrow, swift to mirth.
The years had given them kindness. Dawn was theirs,
And sunset, and the colors of the earth.
These had seen movement, and heard music; known
Slumber and waking; loved; gone proudly friended;
Felt the quick stir of wonder; sat alone;
Touched flowers and furs and cheeks. All this is ended …
~ The Dead by Rupert Brooke
On my way home this evening, I came upon this beautiful display of Remembrance Day at the Old Clock in Kemptville.
Even though Remembrance Day was different this year, this blanket of vibrant red poppies, each one handcrafted by someone who didn't forget, will forever remain with me.
Thank you to Leeds Grenville Fibre Extravaganza.
We will remember them.
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

"What would you not have accomplished if you had been free?"π‘ HAPPY CATURDAY!π±πΎ
Happy Caturday Theme for October 17th /2020
~ "CATPHABET ~Your cat's name & persuade your cat to pose for a photo with an object that starts with the same letter."
And I'm going to be The Cat of Monte Cristo, said Maggie!
“Ah, lips that say one thing, while the heart thinks another,”
― Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo
Ah, captivity, house arrest, hours spent in barred boundaries between four walls, and if you are lucky, a garden to soak in the sun while the weather is still warm although now a little too chilly. Nothing like being an outdoor cat! I miss having no boundaries, so what do we do?
Well, we join groups, cat lovers group, art group, writing group, music group, garden group, you find yourself pretty much forget you're living in a pandemic, almost. I still miss visiting family, thrifting, shopping, movies, and eating out. So for the time being this will help some.
THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO
“What would you not have accomplished if you had been free?"
"Possibly nothing at all; the overflow of my brain would probably, in a state of freedom, have evaporated in a thousand follies; misfortune is needed to bring to light the treasures of the human intellect. Compression is needed to explode gunpowder. Captivity has brought my mental faculties to a focus; and you are well aware that from the collision of clouds electricity is produced — from electricity, lightning, from lightning, illumination.”
― Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo

DORMIR SOUS UN CYPRES
I left it for dead.
When I was inspired to paint The Quiet Garden, it was after I had come upon a beautiful garden behind The Saint John the Baptist Anglican Church in Richmond, Ontario, next to the church graveyard. But, I failed in capturing the serene landscape of The Quiet Garden and tossed the painting into the woodpile.
Sometimes, what I have in mind does not always turn out the way I conceive it in my mind. Now, I have arrived where the road leads to though not so sure how to go on. I will need to give it some thought before I make my next brush stroke.
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

PURRANORMAL INVESTIGATOR π π IN THE HAUNTED CHAMBER
EMMA'S SUBMISSION FOR HAPPY CATURDAY THEME
" IT'S A CAT'S JOB"
Do you believe in GHOSTS?
BAT DOES!
BAT, PURRANORMAL INVESTIGATOR
TIME FOR A GHOST ADVENTURE, BAT?
"Each heart has its haunted chamber,
Where the silent moonlight falls!
On the floor are mysterious footsteps,
There are whispers along the walls!
And mine at times is haunted
By phantoms of the Past
As motionless as shadows
By the silent moonlight cast.
A form sits by the window,
That is not seen by day,
For as soon as the dawn approaches
It vanishes away. "
