* Old Hag Weed Bottles *

*** Old Hag Weed Bottles ***

IMG_2474

Here is another art inspiration from the movie" Practical Magic".
I call them Old Hag Weed Bottles, actually my hubby named them that which I thought was the most appropriate name to refer to them by. When Gillian was under jimmy's spell in "Practical Magic" she referred to her aunts as old hags and so the bottles got their name. But they are quite pretty for old hags, at least from the outside they look quite beautiful and on the inside, well lets just leave it at that!
Keeping the old hags in for eternity and casting good karma on the bewitched gals who keep them in their special conservatory or kitchen or wherever their place of magic may be, these bottles look magical in the natural sunlight but unfortunately we haven't had too much sun and the little we did have I was bed ridden in the past week. Hopefully I will get another opportunity to capture their magic in the coming week and then you will see another side of their beauty cast on the walls.

There is "Jet" with the gorgeous purple jewel and" Fran" with the circle of magical blue and white crystals and "Verbena" with a stunning amber gem.
I have taken a fond liking to creating these bottles but like all else I eventually tire and move on to something new, but for now I think I'm still amused by the whole process.
I used new bottles, vintage bottles, solder, patina, vintage gems and jewels.I still have more to photograph along with some of the Dioramas I have also made.
Hope you like them .

How creepily cute! I love the bottles and I think that even my (un)crafty witchy self might be able to manage those pillows for All Hallows Eve. I'm so making them!

And I saved the screen saver, too!

Thanks so much for sharing ;-)

Your blog layout seems a little off, I'm not sure if it's my browser so I tried changing it but to no avail.

I loved visiting your blog and really appreciate your sweet comment on mine!

This party has been loads of fun and there is not enough time in the day for creating, blog hopping, daily work and spending time with family, which by the way is very much cherished when my hubby comes home for the weekends. Anyway, I will pop on over for a visit to you gals sometime today and tomorrow.

Jaz thanks again and loved your site; especially the Spell Books….Magical!

Incipent Wings, thank you for the award….will drop by for a visit later tonight …much appreciated.

Michelle and Sharon, Thanks for the heads up on the slow blog, tried to adjust it but I'm afraid I want my banner in the size you see and I have no idea how to adjust it in the html. I tried after your comment and I made a mess, will try later this weekl. Thanks again.NEED TO READ UP ON THIS HTML BLOG LAYOUT STUFF.

Wendy I haven't seen those episodes in ages but when I do I'll let you know. I just watched "Slapshot" and that movie with the hockey fights and bad language is my favourite hockey game I've ever watched.....non- stop laughing...I adore it.

Papillon Bleu, I'll be dropping by ….we must chat.I haven't had the time to try my animation but soon. The mini bottles aren't mine they belong to a gal from British Columbia Angie aka Deadspider……fantastic artist! Her link is on the bottles.
Pop art Minis, Thanks for the Fairy Witch Lucky 13 Bewitching Fairy and link. Adore this picture.

Sinderella, THE jellyfish Stingers are Angie's, her link to her store is on the bottle pics.

Magaly , Glad you liked the cat pillow craft enough to try it.Let me know when you have them done.
Again, thanks for the visits and lovely comments.

Make every day Magical.
